The Lumineers is this week’s Unofficial Alt-18 Featured Artist. The Lumineers are a folk rock band based in Denver, but their history dates back to the Spring of 2005 when Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites began to collaborate, writing together and playing gigs around New York. Originally from Ramsey NJ, the due moved to New York City before deciding a change was in order, and migrated to Denver. They added Neyla Parakeh in 2010 and Stelth Ulvang and Ben Wahamakiin 2012.

Their self-titled debut studio album was released in the United States on April 3, 2012. The first single, “Hey Ho” spent 5 weeks in the Alt 18 in 2012. “Stubborn Love” made it’s debut on January 26, 2013 at #14. Over the past 6 weeks it has climbed to #5.

The Lumineers are Wesley Schultz (lead vocals, guitar), Jeremiah Fraites (drums, percussion), Neyla Parakeh (cello, vocals), Stelth Ulvang (piano), and Ben Wahamaki (bass).
